Week 7 - Optional Extra Credit

What is your dream job? Write at least 200 words in which you explain the job and why you are interested in it.

Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Psy, Obama, Lebron James, and Messi are many individuals' role model and people dream that their jobs are going to be jobs of those mentioned.  They have certainly excelled and succeed, there's no doubt to that.  I admire their hard effort to get to where they are at now and the lesson is for us all, but I am walking towards different direction than theirs.  They are after money, fame, all for the glory of oneself, which I think is meaningless.  The life God have give me, I want to give back to Him.  Thus I want to walk a route that will follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and follow what He said.  "Go ye into the world and preach the gospel."  If anything, I want my life to be wholly used by God and thus my dream job would be ministry.

Week 6 - Extra Credit

Write about someone you admire. Tell why you admire them (at least 200 words).

닉 부이치치

When I first met this guy was through a book called "Life without limbs".  Abnormal life that he went through and he is going through and he will go through moved my heart.  If I didn't have arms and legs, could I able to keep on living?  The simple fact that Nick can get up in the morning and look forward to a new day is just incredible to me.  I learned so much from just looking at his determination and I admire his footsteps.  Like apostle Paul's suffering, he took his disability as God's grace on his life that would eventually used as a tool for evangelism.  What God's doing in his life is just amazing and It's my earnest hope that my footsteps will follow God's footsteps and Nick's path.  I want God to fully use me for his glory even if that means sufferings attached.

Week 5 Homework - TV Program Review: Running Man 런닝맨

Personally I'm not a big fan of TV shows, rather a movie lover, but the variety show called Running Man 런닝맨 is an exception.  When you think of variety show, generally it is talkshow, race, comedy, audtion, etc... but Running Man seems to contain all of those aspects which stands out from all other variety shows.

The theme of the show is to beat each other in a race to win the prize.  Unlike other competition shows which portray fierece spark between competitors, Running Man is rather friendly and focused more on the entertaining the audience.

Even though its content on the screen may seem childish, people from all over the world are fanatic about Running Man.  Perhaps it's because of the casts they have on the show, including Korea's best MC 유재석, 송지효, 개리, 지석진, 김종국, 하하, 이광수.
These casts are considered as hot icons among celebrities.

If you are searching for Korean TV shows, I highly recommend you give it a try.  Once you watch it, you will have hard time get your eyes off of the show and you just won't be able to wait until the next one comes out.

Week 4 Assignment - Extra Credit

B.Optional extra credit: Write an extra blog post. Tell about something interesting that you learned about in chapel or one of your other classes.

I've been learning God's creation in Old Testament abstract class.  It was so refreshing for me because what my professor said in the last class really moved my heart.  The purpose of my life, I thought it was to live for Him with all my heart.  But what the professor said in the class hit me so hard I was so overwhelmed.
He said in Genesis God created us in his image thus purpose of our life is to let the unsaved see the image of God within us so that they can come to Him.  It was very refreshing for me because my old way of thinking was so vague.  I knew I had to live for Him and I knew my life should be solely focused to God but I really didn't know the reason why.  I heard so many times that because Jesus died for us we are to submit everything to Him.  That's true but I had thought when Jesus died at the cross he wasn't thinking of what we had to give back to Him.  It's because God's love toward his creation, the image of God, was so strong that He sent His only beloved son Jesus to save us from the sins of the world.

I think it brought me up to the new spiritual level and I'm so thankful to see that I am growing in the Lord, and sometimes may I fall, the fact that there are so many supporters around in my school helps me to have closer relationship with Him everyday and I am so grateful for that.

Week 4 Assignment - Travel Blog

Last summer, my family jetted off to Jeju Island the must-visit place in South Korea.  It was my second time visiting there so I wasn't anticipating that much from the trip but it turned out to be a fun trip.

We arrived at Jeju airport and took a taxi to the hostel.  When we got to the hostel, I couldn't believe what we had to pay for taxi fare.  20,000\!  I thought it was such a rip-off but later I realized that kind of thing happen all the time when traveling in Jeju-Island.  We unpacked our stuff and had our supper while enjoying the scenery of the beach.

Traveling on our own could cost us more money so we decided to go on a packaged tour.  On the first day, We hopped on the island trolley bus which took us to all the famous places in the east side of the island.  We went to so many beautiful places I can't even remember anything but the place I liked the most was Chinese circus. They were amazingly talented  and at the end of the show, they put on a motor cycle show that literally took my breath away.

On the second day, we traveled to the west side of the island.  Same as the east side, we went to various places and personally the best among them was cruise tour.  We got on a cruise and it was an hour ride.  We saw spectacular scenery during our ride and I still can't forget that beauty of Jeju island.

One thing that I didn't like about Jeju Island was capricious weather.  The tour guide was saying that when the east side is sunny, the west side is always overcast or rainy.  Also it was extremely windy when we were there.  It wasn't very good time to travel but we enjoyed it.

If you are planning on traveling to Jeju Island for the first time, I highly recommend you book a package tour which could save you a lot of money and take you to so many places that if you were to travel on your own, you wouldn't be able to travel to half of the places on the packaged tour.

Please stay tuned for more blogs from me :)
